Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/19 21:08 Sorry, but I sent an email to our "Webmaster", whose name is "BOB"! Right? Yeah, well, as I was meandering my way back to the "Home" page I remembered that Cyndi Armstrong Therrel's little boy had an imaginary friend, as did my son, Chad! I remember calling her up one evening, in a complete "Panic", because Chad was having a conversation in the bath tub all alone! Cyndi was so "COOL" about it! She explained to me that little boys do this kind of thing! ! She laughed at me,,,and proceeded to ask me what Chad's special friends name was? I felt like a complete idiot, to tell her his name was "Chopper"!!! The only time I ever heard that name was when my three year old was in the bath tub! She laughed at me because I was "Freak'in Out"! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Then, she told me that Tommy's "Imaginary Friends name was "BOB" !!!!! Before Sponge Bob was ever born!!!!! Okay!!!

I just got so tickled thinking about that story that I had to share it with you guys! If you know "My Cyndi", you will find this tooooo funny!!!! Susie????????????

Re:Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/19 23:13 I actually met Tommy's friend, "Bob!" And knowing Cyndi since we shared a playpen, I can tell you about a few of OUR imaginary friends, too!

And did I share the story about our Drowsy dolls? She thought they needed haircuts, so she started with MY Drowsy doll. When she decided it looked awful, she decided not to cut HER Drowsy doll's hair!!! Classic Cyndi story! Gotta love her! Hehehehehe!

Re:Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/20 09:25 This reminds me of something I was reading on Bob's site. Bob I hope you don't mind me repeating it. I love your site.
It's titled "`O, Say Do You See…`"

My nine-year-old stepdaughter is a very…. er, verbose child. When her verbosity exceeds the boundaries of her life experience and wisdom, she can be counted on to say some of the funniest things. We call her slip-ups “Macayla-isms.”

Today’s “Macayla-ism”:

On the way to school this morning, the girls were discussing the boredom associated with the bus ride home in the afternoon. Macayla’s 12-year-old sister, Katie, offered that yesterday’s ride was boring because her friend and seatmate was absent.

Macayla replied, “Yeah, I sit with a boy named `Sadu.`”

“Say-doo?” repeated Katie.

“Yeah, you know,” answered Macayla, “O-oh, SAY DO you see… by the dawn’s early light….”

Bob I so enjoy your site.... Thanks www.bobgriggs.com

Re:Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/21 12:13 Susie,

How funny....I always thought the pronunciation of the "BOB" was hilarious. Do you remember how Cyndi would animate the name?

Over the years, Chad and I have discussed his friend, "Chopper". Chad says he remembers, and the expression that I get when his name has come up is priceless. The things we remember. Hmmmmm.

Re:Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/21 14:36 My grandaughter, Madison had a imaginary friend from the time
she was 2, untill like she was 8 years old. It's name was Cody.
Sometimes, Cody was a boy and other times, Cody was a girl. When
my daughter, would cook dinner, she would have to set a place for
Cody, complete with food on the plate. Madison asked her Mom if Cody
could move in with them and when her Mom said no, she got very upset.
Once after Madison was buckled in the car and going down the road, she
started screaming, STOP THE CAR! STOP THE CAR. So my daughter pulled the
car over and asked her what was wrong. Madison replied that her Mom had
forgot to buckle Cody in the seatbelt.

Re:Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/21 16:12 My son Chris used to tell us great stories about the adventures of his friend Ghost Mouse. I still have no idea where the name came from (neither does Chris) - but he was the coolest ghost and/or mouse ever... Lyle Woodruff

Re:Imaginary Friends! - 2008/04/21 17:50 Lyle, I wonder if his vivid imagination has anything to do with all of the "pharmaceutically assisted moments of personal introspection" in your youth that you have alluded to???
