Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/19 12:47 In the town you lived in did they have a kiddie cartoon show? I think here in the Atlanta area they had Officer Don. In Minneapolis where my sibs amd I lived there was Lunch With Casey Jones and Roundhouse Rodney, Clancy the Cop, Nurse Carmen and The Axel Show all on different stations. In the Chicago area there was the Bozo Show. Also there was the syndicated shows like Captain Kangeroo, Soupy Sales and others. Even cooler was going on one of the kiddie shows as the live audience. I swear someday Jack...I'm gonna put a picture of me here...

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/19 17:39 I got the Ooey-Gooey Bag on the Officer Don Show (Popeye Club). I think it was Cyndi Armstrong's birthday! ~~ Dragon #9 Susie

It's never too late to have a happy childhood, but the second one is up to you and no one else.

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/19 18:00 Who doen't remember Orville the Dragon on the Officer Don "Popeye Club." I never got to go on that "A" show, but I did get on "Tubby & Lester Show" on the old channel 17. However, I was 11 years old! The next oldest kid was my brother David who was 9, and every other kid was 8 or less. It was hysterical! I had rather long hair for the times, and the stage manager who had long hair had me shake my hair like the Beatles when I walked on the stage and said my name. And then they were picking contestants for bean bag and the almost picked me, but then the producer looked me up and down, seeing that I was at least a foot taller than the other kids, and selected someone smaller and younger. Today I could sue for age discrimination. Ha!

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/20 08:03 Just watched 4 episodes of Andy Griffith late last night.....I know....I need to get a life huh?
That's the greatest show of all time.....until it went to color and Barney left the show. Good clean entertainment.
Let's see....2009-Dirty Sexy Money....1960's- Mayberry's Finest! I still prefer the classics.

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/21 06:39 Steve your right there was nothing better than the "original" Saturday night live!

And speaking of Miami vice... I used to have a cassete with all the soundtracks from the show, Don Henley, etc... You don't happen to have that in your library do ya?

Officer Don was a freind of my Dad's, we used to cook out on the weekends with his family.

A lot of the old shows still air on WGN- WKRP, Newhart, I dream of jeannie, Bewitched( gotta love Elizabeth Montgomery!)Yeah, I know Rick.. I need to get a life, as well.

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/21 07:16 Starsky & Hutch, Maverick, Hill Street Blues, and the old cartoons - The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Pink Panther, The Bugs Bunny Show, Might Mouse - to name a few. And I agree with Steve and Clyde on the original Saturday Night Live.

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/21 07:42 Trivia question:

What was the name of that little space guy on Bugs Bunny?
The one that had the huge ray gun that was to destroy the planet.

Debbie, Mighty Mouse ranks right up there with Satrurday night live in my book!

Re:REMEMBER THE OLD T.V. SHOWS? - 2009/01/21 08:10 Clyde,
funny how the older we get the more we revert back to childhood. I still wish TV was as wholesome as it was back then.
As for cartoons, you couldn't beat Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, and yes, I remember Mighty Mouse. Anyone remember Ricochet Rabbit?
Still love the Rascals and Stooges. Those go way back.
