GRAND CANYON - 2010/05/16 22:13 If any one here hasn't ever been to the Canyon,, you need to go !!

Beauty has no other name. Every way you turn,, there is another vista to wonder.

My first time was in 1978. Micheal Hayne and I took a dare and headed out. We hiked to the bottom on the Bright Angel Trail from the South Rim. It's 11 miles down hill to the river,, and 11 miles up hill to get out. I was miserable but enjoyed every agonizing minute.

I went again in 1980,1982 and 1990. My jaw still drops when I see it. I could stand on the edge for hours. There is a power that flows from that place.

Last week, I took my family out again. This time we took a 6 hour raft ride down the Colorado. It was indescribable. All I can say is,, if you've been there,, you know what I mean. If you haven't ,, GO!!!
The only things in life that are free,,

Your memories and the air you breathe

Re:GRAND CANYON - 2010/05/17 19:48 We did the raft ride too. We stopped and had a sack lunch along the river. It was absolutely amazing. There was a lot of history from the Indians to observe as we went down the river. I would love to do it again. It was awesome.

Re:GRAND CANYON - 2010/05/24 01:19 If you make it to the Grand Canyon, be sure to see Zion national park as well. Be sure to take river shoes to hike up the river at the top of the canyon where the walls are high and narrow.
