Re:Jennifer Jung - 2007/07/31 14:44
When I think of high school, Ms Jung is the first teacher to come to mind. Jennifer Jung now Davidson was the best. She taught us all that if it’s worth doing is worth doing well – really well. Remember the spring musical that she broke out in hives and had to spend opening night in the hospital? (Well, maybe she was at home, but hospital was the way I remember it.)
She was the like the head coach for the music kids. Jennifer's groupies looked to her for music theory, music performance, musicals, and a bit of life coaching too. I remember having to spend some time with her when I got in trouble in other classes. I think we'd call her a mentor now.
This is music nerd stuff here, but singing the Vivaldi Gloria on tour with the Shamrock choir was pretty close to High school music perfection. I ended up in the UGA music school mainly due to her influence.
For you music guys out there, she is Jennifer Davidson who has been an author and clinician for MENC. I think she lives in Wisconsin (OK, somewhere up north). I could talk about Ms Jung all day long – but I won’t.
Robyn or Terry, if you're out there, I'm sure you know how to get in touch with her.
