Crotts - 2007/08/15 16:06 I had a car wreck with Mike Crotts and Mike Hicks after a wrestling match... I was in the eighth grade and they were seniors...no idea why I was in the car but, Dekalb's finest made an appearance that night as well. Anybody know what happened to either of those Mikes??

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/15 21:15 Was that the Mike Hicks that had a little sister Julie?
I was wondering about Julie.

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/16 11:02 Yes, Mike was four years older than me (class of 73 I think) and Julie was a years or two younger than me. I've often wondered what happened to them...... Julie would come to our wrestling matches even before she started at Shamrock. I remember her being a sweatheart...Always very nice....

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/16 16:31 Wow Mark. Those are 2 names are certainly would not have recalled unless you had brought them up. I do remember them now that you mention it and I remember a little something about that wreck but not much.

Don't know what happened to them. Would be nice to know..

What about Scott (Fig) Newton?

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/16 16:39 Fig and my sister, Kim, were very close and Scott actually started working for my dad after college. In fact, he's my neices godfather. I spoke to Kim last week when I called to have her join the web-page and she mentioned that she had just spoke to him. As expected, Scott was very successful after college.

Do you remember the trips to Farrells Icecream shop at Northlake. Hicks used to take me there after the matches.

Also, have you spoken to Chris Kennedy lately. His wife accepted a transfer back to Hawaii and Chris will be moving next month....

Take care

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/16 23:35 Mark,

I do so remember those trips to Farrell's. I couldn't even remember the name the other night. Mark L fixed me up on that. I Remember Hicks but not Crotts so much.

I Talked to Greg Stephens th other day and he told me that Chris' step dad, JB, is a water inspector for Gwinnett county and usually inspects Greg's buildinigs. JB told Greg something about Chris but I can't sgare them in an open forum since it was third hand news. What does Chris' wife do?

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/17 10:12 Hey Alan,

Carol has been with the Post Office in Lilburn for about fifteen or twenty years. Both her and Guy MiddleBrooks were working there. Chris said she put in a request years and years ago to transfer and it finally came through. They sent her a letter and said; 'accepted, move to Hawaii'. So she had to go early and Chris stayed behind to close things down. He leaves the second week of Sept., if I remember correctly.

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/23 15:54 Mark, I have to admit that when I read your post, my first thought was "what wreck did Crotts cause?". But as the brain cells started to loosen up, I remember that indeed it was me that won the collision contest with the mailbox. As best I can recollect, Crotts and I were taking you home after a wrestling match and I was applying just a bit too much pressure to the gas pedal going around a curve (downhill, no less) and the laws of the physical world prevailed. Happily, we collided with a puny mailbox and not a phone pole. After dropping you off, Crotts and I made a hasty departure to avoid what would probably have been an unpleasant conversation with the unfortunate homeowner and the authorities. Thinking that I had "gotten away with it", imagine my chagrin when I arrived home to see that my dad was in a phone conversation with said homeowner. My dad was less than happy with the situation, but I survived.

But thanks for the pleasant memories!

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/23 15:57 Mark, thanks for setting the record straight. Cyndi told me you e-mailed her the other night about the "great roll". Good to hear from you again!

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/23 16:32 Hey Mike, Great to see you out here. Obviously, my memories are a little 'cloudy'... Just wanted to say, "hello". I was surprised you remembered that night, or me, as I was just a lowly sub-freshman. You have no idea what a boost to my reputation it was to hang out with the 'Mike's', as you two were gaints in the eyes of the eighth graders. I fondly remember your letting me drive your car from your parking place to the gym door after practices. That was a huge deal to a thirteen year old and I was always hoping someone would see me. If I remember, it was a Chevy with a four speed and a hurst shifter.....too cool... Take care and talk your sister in to logging in. Would love to say hello to her as well. Take care

Re:Crotts - 2007/08/24 08:32 Hey Alan, I'm guessing she has earned her place in heaven. Maybe it is a cultural thing that has kept her around??? But yes, amazing.....
