Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/05/05 22:11 Ok, I need Tina Dahlgren's help in confirming a Laurel Ridge "Urban Ledgend" claimed by my long time best friend Mike McGoff. Mike loves to tell stories, however I believe he embelishes these tales to get taller with every year pased. This tale he just told me over a few beers at the Hooter's "we own stock in" just last year, and I don't believe a word of it! Mike claims that he was by your house back in 6th grade and you called him to come look at some Playboys that your older brothers had found. You pointed out a picture of a girl on horseback and said that it was our teacher, Ms. Holland but under a diferent name. The rest of the "Story" was that on the last day of 6th grade you placed the magazine on her desk near the end of the day, she saw it and rushed out of the classroom. A little while later, the principle, Mr. Anderson came in to say that he would be conducting class the rest of the day. Tina, would you please respond to this B.S. or I shall have to resort to calling Mr. Anderson as he was my mothers priciple at Harrington Elementary while she taught kindergarten there. I had to speak with him enough in 7th grade as Clyde Scheel and I got sent to his office 7 times that year. I'll send you a PM about this, but I need to call out Mike for all the world to see what a great "spin" lawyer he has become!
Oh yeah, the studio version of "Stairway" is a masterpiece, but they didn't masacre the live version in "The Song Remains the Same" as you said in Beck's American Gov't class!

Tina,
I just found out that your Mother passed away.... I sent you a PM.
Perhaps we can talk about this at a more appropriate time.

Your Neighbor since Kindegarten.

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/07 05:50 Jeff,
My sister e mailed me about this story,
and we don't speak but about once or twice a year. She was SOOOO proud that I had only been to the office 7 times that year!!!

I remember that happening, I think after that she either quit, retired or was reassinged.(after the PTA found out about the pictures)

She was beautiful!!!

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/07 20:14 Are you serious? You mean that story was true??

The one continuous thread I've found in my post-Shamrock years is the slew of tawdry tales I've heard about our female teachers. From what I've heard, half the male population lost their innocence to a wayward teacher. Sorta makes me wonder if yall aren't mixing fantasy with reality in your old age.

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/07 20:22 Yeah Dana it is true. I'm not sure who made the picture public, but I remember her leaving the room and Mr Anderson teaching us.
I'm also sure she did not teach there anymore either.

I can attest to the pictures( still have that issue of Playboy under my bed)

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/07 20:43 You have the picture?? I don't know whether to say or or . I always heard there was a picture but never knew there really WAS a picture. I can speak on behalf of Mary Ruth and myself and request a prompt scan and email so we, the fact-finding committee, can issue our opinion. Or...if you don't have a scanner, I'll meet you on the corner of Farmer's and 34...bring the magazine in a brown paper sack ...I'll be wearing sunglasses.
(yes we live in the same neck of the woods)

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/07 20:56 Dana...It's no wonder you attract stalkers engaging in such devious behavior.

Clyde....What Year? What Page?...I heard she was on Horseback. Callahan confirmed the story as well...I never believed it. Haven't heard from Tina the "Culprit". My Mom says Mr. Anderson might be interested in attending our reunion....just to get ahold of me and Clyde!

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/08 16:38 Sad thing about all of this is that the poor Lady lost a job that she obviously loved simply because of expressing her artistic freedom. It's too bad that folks can still lose their jobs in America today only because they upset someones personal comfort zone. Being terminated for no good reason at all. What a bummer.

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/08 17:52 Byron,
As you are from a class waaaay before mine,I will try to respect my elders.
But, I don't think it is right for you to scold us for simply having fun and ruining a teacher's perfectly good career.
For all we know she may have taken up raising those horses. And be loving the fact that everyday she can still ride naked thanks to those pranksters back at Laurel Ridge!!

I sure hope she is still riding naked!!!

Re:Playmate or Teachers Pet? - 2008/08/08 21:51 I believe Mr Anderson is old enough now for me to safely say " Bring it on big boy!!!"

Naw, really he was a pretty awesome guy.
I'd love to see him again.

Clyde, and anyone else who may have thought that my intention was to scold, it was not. I was just making a comment about how cruel our society of "personal freedoms" can be sometimes. I'm quite certain that at that point in your lives none of you would have ever guessed that placing a magazine on her desk would cost her a job. I as you hope she is doing well. Riding naked or whatever makes her happy. People should do what makes them happy. As long as what they do does not harm anyone, that's cool with me.

Clyde, you are correct. I am an oldie moldie.
