Philip Emeneker - 2007/07/28 02:55 Does anybody have any information about the passing of Philip Emeneker (Class of 1979)? I was saddened to see his name listed on the Memorial page. I dated him for a few months when I was in the 10th grade. He was such a great guy! Thanks for any info. ~~Susie Martin ~~ Dragon #9 Susie

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/07/29 20:20 Hey Suzie!

I planned the 20th and 25th reunions and on the last one, I finally got a number for his mother and she, in no uncertain terms told me it was none of my business and not to call there again.

Either I caught her at a very bad time or it really is something she did not want to talk about. The only comment she made about it was "He is dead and if you were such good friends, you would have known that."

Phillip and I were very good friends in school and I was as nice to her as I could be an just apologized for calling and disturbing her.

Hope all is well with you.

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/07/30 03:18 Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the info. I hate to hear that about Philip.

I dated Philip for a few months and he was always so sweet. We remained friends even after we stopped dating. He was a year ahead of me and after he graduated, we lost touch with each other. For many years I have wondered about him. I have very fond memories of him.

He has a younger brother named Ronnie who was so cute! I used to pick on him unmercifully, but he knew I was playing. I only met his mom a couple of times, but she was a really nice lady. I am sure she will always be sensitive about losing him. I can't say that I blame her. I can not even imagine the pain of losing a child. I hope I never have to.

Again, thanks for the info. And tell Greg I said Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/07/30 23:02 I hated to hear it too. Like I said, he and I were good friends. We always sat together on the bus while still riding it. He was a really nice guy.

I can only tell you that I lost my son at birth and that was really hard, can't imagine loosing one that was grown up.

I was on the phone with Greg when I logged on and he said hello back. He lives in Greenville Indiana (just north of Louisville, KY. He is married and has a son 10 and daughter 8. Jackson was adopted when they did not think they would ever have one of their own and low and behold, 3 weeks later, found out that Madison was on the way!

Hope all is well with you and your family.

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/08/02 12:40 Hi Lisa,

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Sadly, I suffered a miscarriage almost 6 months into my pregnancy. I was so sad. I just can't imagine anything worse than losing a child of ANY age.

God finally blessed me with a daughter. She is now 14 and her name is Madeline. She is my heartbeat! (But she is a Daddy's Girl, BIG TIME!) We call her Maddie.

That is so neat about Greg's children! Ya know, adoptions tend to make people pregnant! Hahaha! At least it seems to happen like that a lot! Does Madison get called Maddie?

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/08/04 01:16 No, we call her Madison. Jackson is Korean. Greg and Jane said if they were going to adopt, they wanted a child from Korea. No idea why, but we love him very much.

When Madison was born (superbowl Sunday), Greg called and left a message for Dad saying...She is here, she has Jane's mouth, my head and looks like Lisa! I called him back and left him a message..."I hope she outgrows it, Teresa (sister's daughter) never has!" lol

Madison doesn't look like me now (lucky for her) but Teresa is me made all over. It is scarry!

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/08/06 12:20 Wow, that page is rather daunting. Gary Alberts? Oh my. He and I "dated" briefly. I can't believe he's gone - all those people, there are too many names on that page. I wonder at the dates too - if those are their graduation years that can't be right - Elise Morrison was in our class, '79, yes?

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/08/06 17:20 I'm sorry I don't remember Elise Morrison. I was only at Shamrock from fall '76 to graduation '78. Since finding this site, though, I've spent a lot of time with my two "Emerald" yearbooks, and Elise's picture was with the Class of '79 as sophomores in the 1977 issue, but with the seniors, Class of '78, in the 1978 yearbook.

I know of at least one other student who graduated "early" through taking extra classes and summer school, and perhaps that is what Elise did. Anyone remember?

Re:Philip Emeneker - 2007/08/06 22:23 Well thanks, that clears that up. I graduated early too, but only by one quarter.
