Re:the ronald mcdonald house - 2009/06/29 21:58 I love volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Chattanooga. I go there and cook supper for the families that are using the facilities. It is very fulfilling, and the families that are staying there are so sweet. My daughter and her friends go with me. It has taught them so much about life and about giving to others who are in need. It has taught me so much, too!

I get WAAAAAY more out of it than I give. I recommend volunteering (at any place) to EVERYBODY!

Re:the ronald mcdonald house - 2009/06/30 07:18 yea, i've been at rmh since 6/25. my son was born june 22 and taken to all childrens hospital on june 23 due to an iv that was improperly connected to his hand. the various groups, or organizations if you will, that i've seen come in to feed us staying there is tremendous. they come in all shapes, sizes, ages, and color. there love and compassion has brought me to tears quite often. most of us there are dealing with innocent babies who are suffering. heart wrenching to say the least.

Re:the ronald mcdonald house - 2009/06/30 13:56 When I worked at Egleston I talked with many family members who were staying at RMH. It was their home away from home. For those that had no family or place to stay in the Atlanta area it was a blessing. They were able to be near their children and not have to worry about what they'd eat etc and could spend more time with their loved one.
Brian please let us know how you're son is doing.

Re:the ronald mcdonald house - 2009/07/10 10:49 for those of you who asked about Brynnen Lee .... he was born June 22, he will be 3 weeks old Monday. In my profile photos you can see the severity of his injured hand, due to the IV. he was 8 hours old when the picture was taken. Currently we are still at all children's hospital. he has been having bradycardia maybe every other day. his over health appears to be excellent. some of those at Ronald McDonald House are in much sadder situations. in comparison, overall we do feel fortunate. i sincerely thank any and all of you who care.
sincerely, Brian
