Speaking of `lack of focus` - 2007/07/23 12:44
Bob Griggs here. Drummer in the marching band; one of only two `A`s on the term paper in Mrs. Lorraine’s English class… otherwise, an unremarkable high school career.
After school, moved to South Carolina to `find myself.` Quit looking after six months and moved back. Couldn’t figure out what to do with myself– I have been a graphic designer; baseball scorekeeper; proofreader of law books; cardboard box maker; hotel desk clerk; owner of well-digging company; manager, then owner of appliance repair service; police officer/investigator (10 years); DEA drug agent; life insurance salesman; rental property manager; and web site designer. And those are just the jobs I can remember…
I have been married three times and divorced four…. the first time for 16 years. I have a 23-year-old son who lives in Atlanta. I am currently married (as of three months ago) to the only woman in the world who can tolerate me.
For the past 10 years, I have owned a web design and hosting company in Gwinnett. On the community level, I have been very involved in local politics, primarily through activist web sites and political commentary online. I and a couple of others are known for being the first in the area to fully utilize the Internet for political and community activism.
I recently served on a citizen committee empaneled to study impact fees with another Shamrock alumni, attorney Michael Levengood.
I count numerous political candidates and elected officials as past and current clients, having combined my business interests and personal interests into an enjoyable and almost-profitable effort.
I like talking Internet and politics! Contact me if you’re in Gwinnett and have an interest in local politics, growth and development issues, etc.
This site (shamrockreunions.com) is my contribution to the reunion effort (Mary is a client! = www.eventdetailsgroup.com ). Other local sites on which you can find my digital fingerprints are:
www.talkgwinnett.com www.bobgriggs.com www.rosebudga.com www.millagerate.com www.gwinnettimpactfees.com
Finally, I am 100 lbs. heavier than when I graduated (I was super skinny back then) and the long, straight auburn hair is all but gone. I’m a real geek (geek, not nerd) and am always on the computer. Add bobg@aboutgwinnett.com and shoestringwebs@hotmail.com to your MSN Messenger (shoestringwebs for AIM) and you can always find me… even my cell phone is online for instant messaging!
My younger brother Mike and his family (wife Joni, a college-age daughter and a 14-year-old son) live within half a mile as do my little sister, Robin, and my parents. Mike is a financial planner; Robin trains horses and riders. We’re in the Grayson-Snellville-Loganville area.

Me as Mad-Eye Moody at the recent launch of the seventh `Harry Potter` book. I won the costume contest at the Barnes & Noble on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth
