What about those cars we had - 2007/08/23 19:11 I still remember the morning roll in and the afternoon roll out. Greg Puckett's blue 69 z/28 my red 69 and Marty Huies black 68 396 Camaro. Gawd I loved Hurst shifters and American mags with Led Zep blaring from the 8 track!! Noah Maddox had one of the baddest Chevelles I think I ever saw or heard. Pete Chaffin destroyed at least 3 426 Hemis that summer of 71 till the Dodge dealer said no more. Rusty Wilson put the fear of God in me one day on North Druid Hills road in his Camaro and remember Frankie Firebirds trans-am. I am sure there was loads more. It was the coolest time to grow up!!! Re:What about those cars we had - 2007/08/24 14:48 I remember Sid Sellers we were buds for awhile. I knew the others but I was not much into the Jock Clic that Guy was into. I ran around with Rick Toney and the other rock musicians and the Car nutts like Greg Puckett. You may know my ex wife Debbi Cole class of 72 we were married for over 22 years and had us two girls after I retired from the music business full time. I want to find Joe Chaffin or his brother pete. Later marshall 71

Re:What about those cars we had - 2007/08/24 16:15 Marshall, since you did manage to grow up, would you please post that photo of Greg's Z28 the day the accelerator stuck and you two survived being wrapped around a tree?

Re:What about those cars we had - 2007/08/24 16:23 My ex-husband, David Mixon, bought a Z-28 from Greg Puckett. I remember it was dark blue and loud! Wonder if it was the same one-

Re:What about those cars we had - 2007/08/24 17:10 I always liked David. I think he must have gotten the other Z from Greg it was dark Green. Go look in the file library under photos to see what was left of that car. Marshall... Duane Johnson still has Marty's ss396 Camaro and mine was totaled by some uninsured 20 yr old chick on the xpressway. Max Huie and the Traylors scavenged my car for mags and parts

Re:What about those cars we had - 2007/08/24 18:11 The way the Z in that photo looks I can't believe anyone walked away-

You're right, David's was dark green. He loved that car! I don't think he kept it very long though, but don't remember why not. I do remember that later he wished he still had it. It's a shame he never got the chance to buy another one. Our son has talked about getting one, but as a mom I'm hoping he never finds one he can't live without-

Re:What about those cars we had - 2007/08/26 12:54 I've always been a big car enthusiast.... especially the muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70's. I remember I always loved walking thru the Shamrock parking lot after classes were over and hearing everyone firing up their muscle cars. Does anyone remember Rick Garrett's yellow Chevelle SS396? or Grady Amason's really fast Black Dodge Super Bee? If I remember correctly, Ricky Miles had a dark green 66-67 Mustang fastback that sounded great? Anyway, it was a great era for muscle cars and brings back lots of good memories.
