Swinging Richards on Saturday Dec 27 - 2008/12/17 08:40 Hoddy Ridarick's band - The Swinging Richards will be at Smiths Olde Bar on Piedmont Rd on Saturday, December 27. Doors open at 7...music at 8 pm. Opening is The Alter Boys which consists of Rick Richards of The Ga Satellites and Peter Stroud (guitar player for Sheryl Crow and formerly with Caeser Speaks). After the Swinging Richards play there will be a jam and you just never know who might get up there on stage. If you are over Christmas music ready to rock head on over to Smiths. When they played last summer they packed the place so get there early for a good spot. $10 in advance + 2 cans of food for the Atlanta Community Food Bank or $12 at the door + 2 cans for the ACFB. Hope to see some of you there!!!!

Re:Swinging Richards on Saturday Dec 27 - 2008/12/19 12:55 Thanks for the thread Karen....since Marshall's passing I haven't been around much...I don't handle those types of things very well and I sorta just go into seclusion, but still...I think about Marshall everyday...he was and will always be a very special person to me.

As far as the Swinging Richards Show, hopefully it will be a blast...we had so much fun when we did our first reunion last December we all agreed we should do a couple of them a year.

The opening band 'The Alter Boys' should be outstanding...the band consists of Rick Richards from the Georgia Satellites, Peter Stroud..an old bandmate of mine and now lead guitarist for Sheryl Crow, and Keith Christopher...original bassist for the Georgia Satellites and one of the most in demand studio bassists around...he's played with the likes of Carlene Carter, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Paul Westerberg of the Replacements and Billy Joe Shaver...so they should be an awesome band.

They'll play the first set, the The Swinging Richards will play and after that the Swinging Caesars will play...they'll consist of members of the Swinging Richards along with Peter Stroud (our band was called Caesar Speaks) and various special guests who will jam with us.

So it looks like it should be a great time...I really do hope to see many of you there...if I don't see you then have a Merry and safe Christmas and a great New Years!

Just want to say that you guys sounded great last night! All of us who were there really enjoyed ourselves. I'm with my brother, Kevin's wife, Chris- "Stepping Stone" is my favorite tune. But y'all's rendition of "All the Young Dudes" was incredible as well. You guys need to play more than twice a year.... And the Alter Boys really rocked the packed house at Smithe's! Great night!!

Re:Swinging Richards on Saturday Dec 27 - 2009/01/13 12:21 It was a great show, It reminded me of going to Rumors and seeing Riggs, also The sprockets with Derrick St Holmes, and Frank Marino & Mohagony Rush,(Donald Demille and I standing on barstool in the back , or I should say weaving on barstools in the the back !) It was great to see some old friends. I was up until about 4AM, and when I got out of bed the next day, I remembered why I don't hardly do these things anymore.......And I didn't even drink ! The bands sounded great, and I had a blast.
