Where Will We Find Them? - 2007/08/30 06:31
I'm still seeing here fewer than 10 of us from the Class of '71. Kelly, Cindy, Dave, Marshall, Peggy, Donald, Doug, & Bonnie... any ideas where we might find others from our class? I've located and notified a few... George Wilkes, Mitchell & Linda (Oakley) Touart, and today will call Guy Elmore. Not that any of them have registered yet, but hopefully they will. Where are the others???
Any clue where we might find Sammy Christopher?

Is Sammy son of Rev. Sam Christopher from Rehoboth Presbyterian Church? It was our church for the few years my family lived in the Shamrock area.
I'd be glad to try to help find classmates - if you can provide names, names of family, last known address, professions...
Who handled your last reunion? Is there a list/directory from there?

Sammy Christopher was actually a student teacher for one of my classes when I was at SHS! I have no idea where he may be now, but perhaps he is a teacher somewhere locally. If so, you might check with the BOE in different counties.
He also had a brother named Jon Christopher that was in the Class of '81.
Maybe these tidbits of information might help you track Sammy down!

Good morning, Jay.
Yes, Sammy's dad was Rev. Christopher at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church. He has a sister named Mary Nell who was either 1 or 2 years younger than us. I had heard years ago that Sammy was living and working in Hawaii, and he might still be there. His middle name is Horton. Not sure why I remember that, but I do. Possibly an easy find with Google, but I've not yet tried that.
Our last reunion (other than the combined 70's reunion five years ago) was in 1995. (Yes, that was just 24 yrs for us, but we combined then with the Class of '70 which was celebrating its 25th.) Denise Pelt Gower ('71) helped organize that one, I think, and was the chief organizer of several earlier ones. She poured her heart and soul into pulling us together for several great reunions at 5, 10, and 20 years. She's likely still in the Atlanta area.
Another name that just popped into my head is Connie Koeves, who has another last name now but not sure what. She and her husband were living in or near Dallas, Texas years ago, and they were into horses. Maybe still there.
I'd throw more names out there, but gotta' get downtown.
Thanks for any help you can offer in trying to locate some of these!

Just guessing, but I'd say best bet is Sammy Christopher is on a golf course somewhere.

Denise Gower and I were on the self appointed Class Reunion Committee for all the past reunions. Denise actually did all the work, bless her loyal hard working soul! I believe we did the 5, 10, 15 and 20 year reunions but failed to gather enough interest for any after that. I don't have an electronic class roster but Denise may. Dave, Thanks for the info on Denise. I may call her to see if she has the electronic roster. Great idea.
Thanks also for teaming up with her on all those past reunions. I made it to two of those you mentioned, and they were great!

Well, I have paid my money (via Pay Pal) to go to this reunion. I sure hope some other people show up! My husband's class reunion is the same night, so I will only stay a little while at this one. I never see or hear from anyone even though I am still in the area. Are y'all going to the reunion?

I WAS IN CLASS OF '70 AND AM NEW TO THIS SITE WHICH IS AMAZING AND FUN. IVE TALKED TO DAVID RIDARICK ON HERE BUT MAINLY THERE ARE THE CLASSES 71 AND AFTER. I KNEW MANY "KIDS" IN ALL THE CLASSES. IN YOURS I NEW CINDY LORD, TOM MOORE, SUSAN BOWERS, ANN COX, LINDA CRISSMAN, THE SKINNERS AND EDDIE VAUGHN TO NAME A FEW. THE ONLY REUNION I ATTENDED WAS THE 70'S CLASS 15 YR. I HELPED WITH THAT ONE AND MAINLY FOUND PEOPLE! A FRIEND TOLD ABOUT A SITE YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT: 411.COM. ITS HELPED ME FIND SEVERAL FRIENDS AND DOESNT COST A CENT LIKE THE 411 VIA PHONE. I JUST WENT TO 411.COM AND PULLED UP SAMMY CHRISTOPHER'S NAME. IT LISTS 2 BY THAT NAME. ONE OF WHICH MAY BE OUR CLASSMATE. IT LISTS HIS OCCUPATION AND EMPLOYER AS MANAGER OF THE GWNT BD OF ED IN NORCROSS. IT GIVES HIS WORK # AS 770-417-2439. IT MAY BE HIM. IT'S WORTH A TRY. GOOD LUCK! LET ME KNOW IF YOU FIND HIM!

KYLE, It's great to see you on this site! I was in your sister Laurie's class. I haven't seen you or Laurie in so long!I was in Tri-Hi-Y in 10th grade (1968). You'll really enjoy this site! Connecting with old friends and making new ones is a lot of what this site is about. Dragonchat is fun! Reading as well as writing forum post is too! I knew Jan Ford but not real well. I'm glad she passed the word on to you about the site. Maybe you can get Laurie to join also. I've begun to call dragons from my class to update addresses in preparation for our 40th reunion in 2010! If you think Laurie wouldn't mind, could you give me her address, phone #, email etc so I can add her name to my class/70 list. You could do that in a private message to me if you'd like. I'm glad you're here!!!
