Oct 10 Reunion - 2009/04/29 18:29
Has there been a post made for this? I can't find it. I looked but have some Merlot and am tired of looking so started a new one (post, not glass)!
Liz, it's too soon to tell if I'll be at the next reunion in October. I was at the one last year at Evergreen and it was fun meeting so many I've seen on this site.
If I can get Ellen Braschler Eve, Phil Eve, David Ridarick, Gwen Gunter Morgan and lots more I could name but won't, then you younguns could meet them and widen your dragon list of friends.
I wish more dragons would come to these parties we have. It costs money sure but these parties are so much fun. Don't you realize that? I've alway been a shy person but don't let that stand in my way. I knew that I wouldn't know very many people at the reunion last year but spent the $40 anyway although I couldn't
swing a room. I met a lot of folks and saw Miss Jolly again! It adds to the fun when you have a group from your own class along with all the other classes. It's fun regardless, but helps to have close friends. Ok, I've rambled long enough and will probably write another post because tonight I'm drinking....

Okay, I was hoping this would not get started until final plans were made but here we are:
Reunion is open to ALL Alumni, all classes 1970 - 1996. Laura and I have been trying to gather contact information from everyone and although MANY have responded sending us their mailing address, email address and phone number, (we are also tracking what years people graduated), I can tell you that if everyone that has responded to us were a member of Shamrockreunions.com, we would only have information on about 1/4 the 1335 members. On the flip side, I am glad I also posted on Classmates and Facebook because that is where the majority of our responses have come from. Even after Bob so kindly sent out 2 mass emails for us!
If you are reading this and have not sent us your contact info....please do so. Please don't assume we have it unless you have sent it to us in the last few weeks! This is NOT a commitment to attend and even if you don't think you will be coming as of now, we all know things change and hopefully you will be able to join us! (see below for our email addresses)We need your information ASAP!!!!
Now on to business: Date-- October 10, 2009
Location-- Double Tree Northlake (PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE HOTEL TO BOOK ROOMS YET) We are offering package deals and not all details are complete yet. YOU WILL NOT GET THE DISCOUNT RATE IF YOU CALL THEM DIRECTLY!!!!
Please be patient as Laura and I are putting the package deals together and hopefully will finalizing information over the next week or so. I can only tell you that event packages will start at about $45.00 which will include a full buffet dinner, a special SECRET DJ that all of you will know from the Radio and more. Rooms will be booked through the registration process and will be $95 (tax included) if you book through us. Their normal rate and the rate you will get if you go through the hotel will be at least $139+/night. We are also working on a golf outing that Steve Williams is going to help us with, a trip down memory lane to include a tour of Shamrock and a family picnic for Sunday for those interested. Rooms will be available in our packages for Friday and Saturday. Since it is Columbus day on Monday and some will be of work, I can work on something for Sunday night if needed.
See we really are working to hold cost down....just please be patient and let us get it all together and PLEASE if you have not already, email one of us all your contact information. Please include Name, Mailing address, email address, phone number, year graduated and maiden name if applicable.
We will get information out real soon! Just start saving your pennies now! You will not be disappointed if you come and join us! We have now received information from people of all classes 1970-1996!!!!

Sorry Lisa, but some of us need lots of time. Don't feel rushed, ok? You and Laura have plenty of time. We're a patient crowd. I was answering an email from Liz Spain and decided to do it as a post. I know a reunion is a lot of work from previous experience back in 85. Take your time, it's worth every second.

We still have a long way to go and ask that if you have not already done so, please, please, please send it on over! We have gotten a lot of people that have submitted their contact information and the interest has really grown over the past week!
