Re:A little post about nothing - 2009/05/15 23:56
I always was and always will be Early! All of my ancestors mean a lot to me. I do have some family records from my great uncle Levring "Lev" who lived almost to the age of 104. He was a mayor of Sarasota, Fla. I never knew either of my grandfathers. My dad's father William Clark was a Methodist Minister in Middleburg, Va. and died young from asthma. (An illness that he would've lived through with treatments we have now.) My grandmother Ruth "Nan" on dad's side lived 3 months and 2 days short of age 98. She and I were very close. I have a lot of family history that she passed down to me by word of mouth. Her second husband George Young Lovejoy was a Captain on a couple of ships on the Mississipi River. We called him "Skipper". My great-grandfather Charles Edward Early lived to be 96. He was 3 years old when Lincoln was shot. We lost my mom's mom Cleo back in the fifties. Mom's dad Howard, she lost while in her teens. My mom, Betty Couch Early is 84. She was a registered nurse at the V. A. Hospital in Memphis and Atlanta. Just a little background info... way back!
