Re:ROCK CITY rumors... - 2009/05/17 17:15 It has been confirmed that ROCK CITY will be taking over the Moonshadow Tavern in Tucker on May 29th, Friday night at 9pm. Our bass player has been replaced by none other than Jean Stewart from Miss Suspicious, and we will probably have their percussionist Marcie "Jinglefoot" Hemphill to add to the atmosphere. Can you say Allman Brothers? Doobie Brothers? And we will have four vocals to fill out the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, even a little Peter Gabriel and Steely Dan.
This is Melissa's night of redemption, as I am sure those of you who saw our last show will agree she owes us a solid night's work. But with all of the vocals no one will have to work too hard for the songs to sound great.
Anyone coming in from out of town that weekend for the Oasis gathering, can do Atlanta the whole weekend and party with your friends in the old stomping ground of Pea Ridge, before making the long journey to Loganville Saturday night. Look forward to seeing lots of people there.

Re:ROCK CITY rumors... - 2009/05/20 11:29 I think we should make THIS the biggest gathering ever and forget about the Oasis! HAHA! It's closer in, you can crawl home (if need be) and the wait staff actually makes you feel like they are glad you are there. The Oasis is lucky we haven't already dumped them for a better spot.

We do have some surprises in store for the 29th at Moonshadow. My bass player can play anything I start and she ain't skeered, so if you want to hear a good song that we haven't played just let me know and it will be so. Look for some 4 part harmonies so the Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac will sound better than the originals. And you can tell them I said so too. NYANH!

Re:ROCK CITY rumors... - 2009/05/21 21:47 Stop already with the emails. I understand that it is Memorial Day weekend. The penalty for not showing to a ROCK CITY show has never been as harsh as ya'lls worried responses. If you are out of town, Duh, ya can't make it. If you are in town, you can just come out for a minute cause it's free, shake a few hands, hug some babes, and rock a little.

The last show I got the same emails and we had over 65 people show up so I am real about it. There is no obligation to come out to see ROCK CITY, even though the tug is great. If'n you've ever seen us you know we are about great vibes, and if you have not then some day you will. ROCK CITY will never quit on you and we know you won't quit on us. This is one show you should not miss however, since the finest musicians and vocalists will be performing within arms reach, but I know everyone has priorities.

Thank you to those who can come ( and you know who you are) and you will not regret the investment. Kevin

Re:ROCK CITY rumors... - 2009/05/24 20:55 You can't say that ROCK CITY does not pay attention to the fans. I have had several requests that insist that ROCK CITY play more originals this time out. Apparently my web page has been inundated with hits and "Little White Lies" is gaining some popularity. So not only will we play that( I will do the lead on acoustic guitar just to prove it was me on the record) but we will play at least 8 of my very best songs, including "Take It Like A Man" which was written to my brother David after his death, and it happens to be my new bass players favorite song of mine.

The 1st set begins at 9pm this Friday, May 29th, and we will play for about an hour and a half of acoustic rock before taking our 1st break. I am gonna be looking for someone to drink a couple of shots with, so stick close and you may get a couple of freebies. Then the electric guitar comes out for some Stones, Beatles, Zep, Steely Dan, and Eagles. My Who band mates may come out and sit in for "Baba ORiley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again", but either way this will be a great hour of music.

We go until 1:30 am and I only want to do 3 sets so they will be pretty long. Keep those requests coming and I will incorporate them into the night's sets. it looks like it will be a great weekend of Shamrockin, what with ROCK CITY Friday and the Oasis Saturday. I bet most of you can't make both nights! Remember when you could?

Re:ROCK CITY rumors... - 2009/05/25 09:44 OK Mr. P. Howze about something from (4days and..)Counting Crows? We are already doing "8 Days(and counting) A Week" by the Beatles, and "16 Days" (& counting) by Whiskeytown. I cant think of any others you might know. Maybe something by BT (TT) O, like "Takin Care of Busines?" I better stop before this Deja Moo gets carried away.

Re:ROCK CITY rumors... - 2009/05/26 08:54 I can see I am gonna hafta take you under my wing Mr. Pappas, and give you some pointers on how to be a little more entertaining with your posts( we doesn't want to irritate the ones who won't, can't, or shan't go). So here goes.

First, you give them a little humor. For instance, I could say, Gee whillikers Steve, weren't you the guy known as "The Count" on Sesame Street? Reference your fondness for calculating remaining days might make someone less irritated.

Second, you then inform with something they did not know. Now you could say something like Obama is still smoking Kools, or George Bush's mother wears Prada, but that might provoke conflict. So I like to spring a little more info about the event at hand, of course, ROCK CITY"S invasion of Tucker. So, a good example MIGHT be that Steve Pappas has agreed to play a couple of songs to entertain his following, so look for him to join ROCK CITY on stage at some point in the evening.

See how much more fun we just had? So take a moment before your next posting, and consider my tutelage( and no thats not a dirty word). Then, sit back and wait for the massive response you get because you brightened someone's otherwise dull existence. Good Morning!
