ROCK CITY @ Moonshadow 6/26 - 2009/06/20 12:39
Ok Ida and Deb! You say you want some lead time on our next gig, well here ya go. Friday night June 26 at 9pm ROCK CITY annexes Tucker and the Shamrock area for a night of great music at the Moonshadow Tavern in Tucker. We are bringing out the "big band" again, with Marcy bringing the extra percussion to work with Charles the drummer, so the sound will be fat and you will definitely come out of your seats to dance.
Admission is FREE! It looks like a great night to do the Tucker crawl, as there seems to be another event(which shall remain nameless haha) happening the same night. We play until the wee hours of the morning, which means we should be wrapping it up around 1:30 AM. Come early and stake out your seat, or come late and join the dance party. We are gonna do over 4 hours of your favorite music, so get there when you can and you will not be disappointed. If you like singing you will love the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, John Cougar and Pat Benatar. If you like dancing, the Stones, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Ray or Allman Brothers should keep you bouncin.
Did I say ADMISSION IS FREE? I thought I did. Save the door money for that extra drink to put you in the mood for fun and frivolity. And there should be plenty of your friends in the area to connect with throughout the evening. This will be like a Friday night after football, when everyone was out cruisin and lookin for fun. ROCK CITY is ready and waitin. AND we will see you there!

Now now Ida. I don't believe there is anyones else on this site that would say you are anywhere close to that bit@h rating. Eveyone here knows what a sweetie you are to them. AND, it's sweet of you to coordinate the ROCK CITY party and rally the troops for the adopted band of Shamrock High.
Melissa and I want to thank everyone ahead of time for making plans for the summer blowout at the Moonshadow Tavern in Tucker this Friday night with your rockin hosts, ROCK CITY! It looks like it should be a late night with lots of stragglers coming after the "other" show in Tucker. We will be partying til 1:30 in the AM and since there is no Oasis gathering, we expect to fill the Moonshadow with Shamrockers! They keep asking us back, and it is because of the attending dragons more than anything. They really love the crowd we bring; attractive funlovers who find many excuses to attack the dance floor.
Check out Kevin Tobin on facebook for more details about the show. The admission is FREE, and the atmosphere should be killa! It should be a great night, as I will be performing many of my original tunes, and we have some great new numbers for Melissa to belt out, including some Journey and Melissa Etheridge. Please let me know if you're coming or I will see you there at 9pm on Friday!

Re:ROCK CITY @ Moonshadow 6/26 - 2009/06/22 18:42
Many of you are wondering how ROCK CITY came to be. It is a storied history steeped in lore from the most famous of times. When Helen of Greece was whisked away to become married to Troy (hence her new name according to olden ways), she set in motion events that would change music history. The Trojan War commenced, and when it was all over Aeneas escaped to what would later become Rome. Traversing the countryside, he came upon a troubador playing the most ghastly noises upon his lyre, and begged him to cease and desist. An argument ensued, where Aeneas, threatening the troubador with bodily harm, chased the lone songman through the countryside. Crossing the Rubicon, Aeneas soon cornered the troubador at what would later be called the Tarpein Rock. There was no where else to go, and Aeneas threw the troubador off the rock onto the vast and rolling stones below. Many years and offspring later, Aeneas great great great great great grandson and my ancestor Quevane Tubine would gather the entire population of Rome to the very same rock to entertain the populace. Julius Caesar himself was in attendance, and would later remark that he had never seen so many people congregated in one area, and was inspired to build the Colusseum to hold the masses for future events. "The city of Rome", he orated to the gathered Patricians and Plebians alike, "has become one giant ROCK CITY!" Only 1 show was ever played there, and the story was passed down for generations as my ancestor accompanied Caesar to Brittania in 53 BC, where he was sent on a mission to swim the Irish Sea to what is now Ireland. He himself washed ashore at Blarney Rock (now Blarney Stone) furthering the ROCK legend. When I was dreaming of my band, the gods visited me and bombarded me with visions of eagles, beatles, cougars, and benatars, and compelled me to create an entity where they, as well as you, could live in peace and harmony, and that place is ROCK CITY! Appearing at the Moonshadow this Friday night! See ya!
ps. hey Ida, is it hypocrytical to notice that you are using my forum to shamelessly promote your endeavors with facebook? I think it is......

Ok Mona. I talked to the Moonshadow and they told me we could leave the back door open and turn waaaaaay up just for you! So grab your glass of wine and sit on your back deck and enjoy ROCK CITY from the comfort of your own home!
Everyone else, your gonna have to be there in person (unless you can talk Mona into a private invite) so Iexpect to see you all there. And, I am gonna introduce my brand new original tune, never before played in public, called "Iranian Sun." It's about 1 soldier sitting on the firing line at night, scared and alone, but nevertheless doing his duty all the while thinking about things just like you and me. And in the back of his mind he can't wait for the sun to come up because his odds greatly improve then and he will most likely return home to his loved ones. It will be in the first set so if you want to come out early, catch some ROCK CITY and be in bed by 10:30, I will play about 7 original songs including my newest, "Iranian Sun." I think they are all good but this one is really good! Can't Wait for Friday!

All I can say is ...Wow! A pity those of you that missed tonite, as it was just awesome. We pulled some songs out of our rears tonite, as the requests kept pouring in all night. The Who, Janis Joplin, and even Van Halen was asked for and received, as I whupped out "Ice Cream Man" and the place went nuts. We had people from Florida, South Carolina and Alabama, and Susie Bowman, for you to do what you did for us was very special, as you NEVER get close to any events, but you made our night( although I must admit I drank both drinks you bought for us.)
Thanks again to all my Shamrock friends, and i have to tell you it has been a great experience getting to reconnect with you all. Thanx Bob and Sherry, Susie B, Ida DTT, Lisa K, and all the rest of you who have made this site unique and special. Til we meet again.
