Coach Ramos's Memorial Service - 2009/08/01 20:43
Today's church service and celebration at the Ramos home were a wonderful way to remember Coach Ramos and to honor the way he lived his life. Mike, Cookie, Rocky, thanks for opening your home to all of us "kids" to celebrate what your dad meant to us Dragons. It was great to see friends, and to get to talk to the many Shamrock faculty members that were there. I was talking to MommaWilva Rogers about the special atmosphere we had at SHS, where the faculty didn't just teach us, they took the time to mentor us. At the time, it just seemed like the way it should be, but not everyone was as blessed as high school students to have the strong mentors we did. As we were driving home, Alan and I were reflecting on the good times we had at Shamrock. Our job now is to carry on the lessons our mentors taught us.
So, smile, everyone, and remember our mentors. Coach Ramos's lessons are living on in us.  We sure are a lucky bunch of "kids!"
