Strnage Things I've Done - 2007/09/07 20:07 Hi folks! I actually did think of one more strange thing!

I love doing research and it was way cool to see a family come together. It was even odder to meet one of my husband's cousins and find out how much alike they are! (We even had the same type AND color automobile!)

Yeah, I am sure I have done some really weird things during 30 years of teaching, but I reckon I have blocked
most of them out. ANYWAY... I did think of this one, but it is actually like ..."the most embarassing thing I have ever done." I could not even talk about it until just a few years ago!

Here goes: One of my sister's boyfriends (yes, Audrey)and I became like "best friends" after they broke up.

Gary and I did everything togtether, and when he decided his calling was to enter the ministry, he went to Auburn for his undergraduate degree. We would write each other (no e-mail here!) and usually closed our letters with a verse of scripture. Well, after one particularly bad week at Young Harris, I wrote him and explained how terrible the week had gone. I closed my letter with the verse Prov. 17:17. He called me later that week and said "...you sent me a really weird verse. I don't remember what it said, but I know I pryed for you!"

Later, he showed me the letter and instead of writing Prov. 17:17, I quoted Prov. 7:17.

Now, I leave it to y'all to check out those verses. I was simply trying to thank him for lending me an ear. NO WONDER HE PRAYED FOR ME!

Re:Strnage Things I've Done - 2007/09/08 11:03 That is funny!!! Reminds me of when I was about 13 years old and one of my brothers was picking on me about...I dunno...something, who remembers?

The ensuing conversation went something like this:

Me: Leave me alone, jerk!"

Brother:"What is YOUR problem?"

Me: "Y'all always treat me like a baby! I am not a baby, I am an adolescent!"

Brother (laughing): "You don't even know what adolescence is!"

Me: "Yes I do!! It is when you go from puberty to ADULTERY!"

FAMILY: Rolling hysterically on the floor!

To this day they tease me about it!!!

It's never too late to have a happy childhood, but the second one is up to you and no one else.
