Mystery Lunch Bunch - 2010/01/31 22:23
Am aiming for late Feb. One lunch during the week and one on a Saturday. Will let you know when. I'm waiting to hear back from Doug about the 24th as a possible date. He has to see what his schedule will be and also possibly Sat. the 27th for Saturday Lunch Bunch. Again, there's no definite date set. We'll keep you posted.

Ya'll count me in...I love to lunch! 
A few suggestions for lunch locations:
The Snellville Mellow Mushroom is owned by the wife of George Rosselle, and Barbie loves to give Shamrock folks special service. Needless to say, the food is excellent. It's on Hwy. 78, on the east end of town. 
A couple of our favorite in-town eateries are AppNTap (sp?) at the North Decatur/Medlock intersection, just up from the old skating rink (great chicken salad and super beer selection)...and then there's the heartstopping fishhouse across from the Oakland Cemetery -- Six Feet Under. Fried everything (and a few other choices) and, of course, another fabulous beer selection. 
I mean, the Blue Plate was awesome (sorry ya'll missed it, right Ricky?)...
And then there's that incredible Chinese place on Clairmont, on the left just past N. Druid Hills...it's a real HUMMER!
So, like I say -- I like lunch. You can go out in the daytime, when you're still awake, and make it back home in time for a nap. Ya'll just lemme know, I'll be thar, or be square, at least until we can make it through the ice, snow and mud to our cabin again.

Tommy Moon suggested downtown Decatur. Let's see, so many choices. We may have to have lunch every Saturday!
Maybe Ricky Miles, Kim Lester Hill, Meter, Clark and Steve could make it! Maybe Gail Jolly and Ken Harris. We need some "first-time lunchers" to show!
Doug, Feb. 17th doesn't work for me. How about Wed Feb. the 24th. For Saturday Lunch Bunch maybe Feb. 20th or 27th. David's band is playing the Moonshadow in Tucker on the 20th. The 27th may work better.
Will let you know when I know.

Yes, Gail, it was awesome. That was the Blue Ribbon Grill at Northlake, right? The turnout (both of us) was pretty awesome, too, wasn't it?

Yeah, sorry I didn't make it to lunch at blue ribbon... that's the first one Ive missed. I've been to lunch with Clark and Doug over near Peachtree DeKalb Airport or is it Dekalb Peachtree? Or is it Laurie AIRhead? It was just the three of us and wasn't a Lunch Bunch.

At lunch I'd like us to talk about the SHS trophies and what we can do to save them from cardboard boxes in a dark storage room at Shamrock Middle. I called and left a message for the principal's assistant but she has retired. I didn't know at the time I called that she had only a few days left before leaving.
With luck, I'd like to be able to get the trophies back to the ones that won them or to members of that particular team.

Must be nice that she retired. She was in the class of 75 at SHS. She played varsity BB! And was really helpful to me as I planned out reunion tour.
Principal Thorpe was also very willing to speak with me so you may be able to speak with him directly Laurie!
