Re:Wood Shop...We do'need no stinkin' safety glasses - 2010/02/17 19:24 It's a book holder. Everyone in woodshop had to make one. Mine didn't look as good as the one pictured. In fact it was kind of hideous. So I did what any red blooded teen age boy would do...I gave it to Susie for Christmas that year...

Re:Wood Shop...We do'need no stinkin' safety glasses - 2010/02/17 23:35 I'm so lucky to have a pedastal dining table that Tommy Birdsong '78 made for me in shop. (straightjoke) It was shown at North Dekalb Mall and won a blue ribbon. I have the ribbon and the tag they put on it. I haven't forgotten him and every now and then something comes up that makes me think of him yet again. I also have three other things he gave me. One I stenciled "Kiss the Cook" onto, another was a picture of a clipper ship done on wood and the other were fun memories of hanging out with him and my bros.

Re:Wood Shop...We do'need no stinkin' safety glasses - 2010/02/18 21:46 Hey, we have one of those at our house that Wesley made!
The bed that we sleep on he also made his senior year.Coach Wells let him work on it most of the year.
It also won a blue ribbon at N. Dekalb. We also have some shelves that hang on the wall that he made and sold in Junior Achievement.
