phillip Jones - 2007/09/19 18:36 Does any one know what happened to Phillip? I used to see him a lot at Uncle Woody's on Hwy.78 in Lilburn. Not that long ago! I was shocked to see his name on the Memorium list!

Re:phillip Jones - 2007/09/19 19:32 Phillip died of a sudden heart attack in December. His brother, Donald, can probably respond to this with some details. SO SAD! I found out through my Mom through her friend at Scott Boulevard Baptist, but too late to attend the service. His brothers, Ronald & Donald, were Seniors when we were in 8th grade. They (5 boys all together) were my next door neighbors on Vine Circle in Decatur. We all went to McLendon Elementary. I talked with Phillip on the phone & computer after the last reunion (giving him a hard time for not attending), but never took the time to arrange a visit. In his honor & our 50th year, I have made the effort to see a lot of folks that I have lost touch with over the years (some I have not seen since we were teens). Therefore, it has been a very special year for me. I am very sorry that I didn't get to see Phillip again though. So! Live for today, because we don't know if we have tomorrow! Anyone who is hesitant about attending this reunion for whatever reason should put those thoughts aside & embrace this opportunity!!

Re:phillip Jones - 2007/09/19 21:02 Hey Ann and Linda...First of all I appreciate Linda asking about Philip and Ann continuing to think about him...Ann, you summed up the info on Philip perfectly...I can add that he was engaged to be married this year...and I had only met his fiance one time prior to his passing...that was very tough for me to say basically hello and good-bye to her...I hope I can meet some of his classmates at the reunion...then LET'S PARTY... thx DON

Re:phillip Jones - 2007/09/20 03:45 I sadly learned about Philip's passing from Ann. He was a friend of mine at SHS. He was such a nice guy, really quiet but a lot of fun too. I want to meet you, Don, at the reunion so don't forget to look me up!
Ann is so right-We are only promised today.

Re:phillip Jones - 2007/09/20 08:42 I, too, was so sad to hear about Phillip. I have a few pictures of him from McLendon for one reason or another. He was a sweet guy and good friend back then. I hate that I did not see him as an adult. I think he lived close to me for a while. I, like Ann, hope to reconnect with so many people that were a special part of my life at the reunion. Janice
