Re:PeaRidge - 2007/08/09 20:11 It was Pea Ridge long before there was a Shamrock and it will be Pea Ridge long after we are all gone.

Re:PeaRidge - 2007/08/17 16:14 Does anyone know the origin of the name PeaRidge. Or how long it's been called PeaRidge. I was raised there but don't know much of the history of the area. Im still a PeaRidger, and I left the area over 30 years ago

Re:PeaRidge - 2007/08/21 15:40 Mike Smith (class of 76) told me that his father said that before the Civil War that the area was farm land known for growing mainly peas among other vegetables and became known as PeaRidge. Also there was a Battle of PeaRidge during the Civil War. Knowing Smitty you can take this story as you want.

Re:PeaRidge - 2007/08/22 12:47 I went to a new dentist this morning. He is about my age, maybe a little older. He asked me where I was from. I replied that I went to Shamrock (he was a Tucker grad).

He said, "Ah, yes, Pea Ridge...."

Re:PeaRidge - 2007/09/21 21:35 Mark Allen! Is that really you? How's your sister Lynn doing? How is ?Kim and Tommy?
Ya'll were like my favorite family up on Sanden Ferry but, What ever happened to Chuck Maples and the Maples clan? Chuck and I were married for a very brief time in the third grade. alas, he only loved me for the crazy critters i'd bring to class. I often think of him when i see freckle faced red heads!
Do ya'll remember Mr. Aldridge? He was one patient man! I spent a lot of quality time discussing the finer points of life in his office.
I also remember Coach East and Ms. Carswell having a passing fancy.
Did you ask about Mrs. Kearny? Wasn't she Ms. Maybe's sister? I loved Ms. Maybe.
And I saw Max Clayton's name up there somewhere....I take him with me in my heart whenever I visit historic places. I put a passion in my soul for the story of this wonderful country I call home.
Sorry, i do wax on.
Say hey to your family for me!
