Re:Great memories of Little Creek! - 2009/09/04 16:19 That place does bring back memories. I drove past it on my way to the Mystery Lunch this week.
My sister wanted a horse back in the day. Dad found one we could afford and bought it. It's name was "Tarzan". It arrived and got off the trailer. Sis couldn't wait to ride him. Tarzan had other ideas about the entire situation. He wouldn't let Sis get on. Dad finally got him to stand still long enough to mount,, and after a round or two around the stable,, Tarzan took Dad down the isle of the stable and almost took his head odd on the rafters. When he "alt" from Tarzan,, one of the other folks there said they could straighten him out. Dad was more than welcome to hand over the reigns. That guy just thought he was going to ride Tarzan. It wasn't long after a few passes around the pasture,, the guy got off and told Dad, "that horse is crazy". Dad tried several more times over the next few weeks but ole Tarzan finally was delivered back to his original owner.. who by the way didn't have any problem at all riding him. Ole Tarzan was just pissed about being sold.

Re:Great memories of Little Creek! - 2009/09/11 22:39 I rode a horse for the first time at Little Creek ranch. Nobody showed me how to handle the reins and the horse went to the creek for a drink of water. I rolled down his neck into the creek!! Never rode again!! Fay Durham Howard 1973
