Re:Plantation Skating/Skate Along/ Stone Mtn etc.. - 2008/01/24 20:59 Philadelphia Freedom was an awesome "Alabama" song. I think Cyndi A and Wayne T won a big competition skating to that song.

And you're right, Chris, "Never Been Any Reason" was another great one that we did a kind of "shuffle skate" to. And "Rock Me Gently" was a great "Alabama" song.

Siiiiigh! I wish I still had the energy and stamina that I used to!! I would dust off my old Canadian Reds and outfit coordinating skate covers and give it a whirl if I weren't so old and feeble now!

Re:Plantation Skating/Skate Along/ Stone Mtn etc.. - 2008/01/28 02:08 My favorite's were always, "Black Cloud", and "All Right Now"!!!! "Rock'n Me" by Steve Miller would always get me up and moving too!!!!!!

Anyone remember "The Limbo"? Wow, Wayne T. always could get down low with it. And, I seem to remember that Eddie Otto's little brother "Stan" could win it anytime he was there. The kid could become a human pancake sliding across the floor.

Such fun times, and great friends!!!!!!!

Saw this business name in another forum and boy did it bring back memories! Straight leg jeans, too much eye makeup and getting in trouble in the girls bathroom. Who all was there in 76-84. Is it even still around???

Re:Plantation Skating/Skate Along/ Stone Mtn etc.. - 2009/03/30 16:31 Yes, the Plantation Skating rink building is still there but it's no longer a rink. It's around the corner from my mom's house and I've driven past there many times but not up to it. Maybe I will next time I'm over that way.
