Re:all Hail the King - 2008/01/09 00:06 Absolutely!!!! And, "THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE VALLEY"

Psalm 23

The LORD, is my shepherd, I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures he leadeth me beside the "Still Waters";
He restoreth my soul: "He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake!!!!!!!!!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadwow of death, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou "anointest" my head with oil: MY CUP RUNNETH OVER.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and, I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Look for me where the big white horse sleeps, and the Lion lays down with the lamb.

I don't need or want a mansion. The jewels on my crown shall be laid at the feet of "MY JESUS" when I get HOME!!! I WILL BE AT THE BARN!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope to see you there!

Re:all Hail the King - 2008/01/09 04:25 Love it! I love to see Elvis Inpersonators, but so far, I'm yet to see any of the Beatles.

Re:all Hail the King - 2008/01/09 08:28 In my preteen years I was a heavy duty Beatles fan. I still love the Beatles, but I only occasionally put their disc in the juke these days. Elvis, I can listen to any song, any time and still love it as much as I ever did.

I remember that Chuck Lee, I think class of 74, loved the Beatles. I believe he had every album the Beatles ever turned out. Had all of their solo stuff too.

Thank you, Susie -- I couldn't have said it better myself.

But Elvis beat the Beatles hands down when it came to movies...

Re:all Hail the King - 2008/01/09 14:01 Okay, so Elvis started something that in his early days, the elders wanted to put a stop to. He was after all (Pelvis Elvis.) He was a male sex symbol, from USA and he served his country. Then there are The Beatles. never to be replaced. The Beatles and Elvis are great legends.They took us through years of change. Love, War, Drugs, and rebellion. I say it is a tie, in its own right. They are too different to be otherwise. Two different eras that both streched across time to never be forgotten or replaced. Both had a dynamic effect on the whole world and always will.

Re:all Hail the King - 2008/01/09 14:47 Blondean, that was so well written!

A bit of trivia regarding Pelvis Elvis. When he was first on the Ed Sullivan show the camera folk were ordered to keep focused from the top of the waist up.

As far as Beatles movies go, I think Ringo Starr was great in the movie Caveman. I don't go for a lot of comedies, but that movie was a gut buster!
