Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/02 13:37 I'm sure it was meeting up with someone at a Shamrock Football game. Not too sure how to define a very first date, but that's the best I can figure.

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/02 20:59 Does anybody who worked at PONDEROSA remember Steve Kitchens from Druid Hills?
What a dream boat.
And What a cool Ford Falcon he drove.
We went to the Abby (down town)then to the homecoming dance...I was so scared when it was time to go home, that he was going to walk me to the door and kiss me!****Come to think of it, it wasn't bad at all****I still get goosebumps when I hear Billy Joel's "She's always a woman to me"

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/03 09:32 My first date was with Susan Pless. I was a freshman. We double-dated with Mark Hodges and Susan Maples to Six Flags. Had my first (meaningful) kiss in the back of Susan Maples' Mom's van on the way home. I still think of it when I hear "You make me feel brand new" by the Sylistics. "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin"

We use to go to Kenny's house a lot and hang out in his basement shooting pool. There were always a bunch of us there listining to Are You Experienced? and Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix. Those were the daze!!!

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/03 20:49 8th grade homecoming dance! Boy what a long time ago! I remember who I went with (1st and last name Theresa haha) but he is not a member on here so I won't encriminate him! LOL I was told at one of our events we have had since this site came on board "If you had been this cute in high school, we would have dated!" So I guess it confirmed what I knew all through school....not cute! oh well!

My dress was ugly then and still is but it was green to go along with the SHS colors!

I remember changing cloths in the bathroom at the stadium during the football game with everybody else!

Come to think of it, I don't think we danced at all that night! LOL

I also remember when I got home (my mom took us and his dad drove us home) I got out of the car, he didn't act like he was going to get out, I said thank you, I had a good time and shut the door on him as he made a move to get out! I guess that is what happens when you go on your 1st date with a neighborhood family friend!

I just had to pull this one out...

Bet those of you who were familiar with the Maples' van know how a guy could swipe his first meaningful kiss while someone's mom is driving...

My sister Jansie and Susan Maples ran together back in their Rehoboth days. I'm not sure just how many kids there were in the Maples family, but they were the only ones I knew that were hauled around in a cargo van...I swear that thing was a custom-made kid-mobile, and nearly the size of a Bluebird bus...

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/04 20:14 I remember my first "real" kiss. I was in the 10th grade. (Yes, I know... I was slow!) It was totally unexpected. I punched the boy in the nose and asked him, "Why'd ya do THAT?!?!?!" Needless to say, he didn't try THAT (or anything else) ever again!

Wasn't too long afterwards when I realized that smooching was really a lot of fun! Hehehehe!

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/05 00:19 My first REAL date? Hmmm....

I guess you can't count all those parties we Rehobeth alumni had, and the games of spin-the-bottle, Post-Office, and 2-minutes-in-heaven.
Back then, there were no Junior High Schools, just 1-7 and 8-12.

My first date may have been a 7th grade class trip to Six-Flags. I think Pam Cruise (Cruse) was my date...

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/05 08:09 I was not allowed to date. Period. No dances, no movies..nothing. Being born and raised in Italy
I had a very strict dad. Kevin and I had to sneak
around to see each other. One day my family went
to Six Flags for the day and I was home alone..
so Kev and his friends came over to hang out. To my
extreme horror, my dad comes pulling up in the driveway.
He told the guys to get the "F" off his property and
threatened to call the police! To say I was mortified
would be putting it mildly. Of course when Kev and I
got married my dad came to love him like his own son.
In 2000 when my dad died..Kevin and his girlfriend, Melissa came up to the hospice to see him. The last words my dad spoke were to Kevin..."you were the best". I like to say I have the most functional dysfunctional family ever. Anyway, Kev still likes to rub that in my face as much as he can..but we know the truth, he was definetely not the best. waaaahhhhhh !

Re:FIRST DATE - 2008/03/07 20:47 Glad that I started this thread! Some great stories for sure. Goodness, Gracious, and Oh My Gosh!!! I think we should leave it at the "First Date" for fear of what might creep out of the woodwork!!!
