Atl britches too big - 2008/06/11 19:41 Atlanta is too big for it's britches. Price the Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick tickets in Atl..... give me a break. Well, if I bought them I'd be broke for sure. Steve Perry won't even be there. I'll just see them in Charlotte.

Re:Atl britches too big - 2008/06/12 08:44 I'm fortunate to get to go to alot of the Chastain shows. The good news there is you can take in your beverages and food if you wish. Last weekend, saw ZZ Top there and they were still rockin'. The new Verizon Ampitheater in Alpharetta is even more expensive- tickets cost more there and you have to purchase beverages, food, etc. from them so you have spent a mint by the time you leave.

Re:Atl britches too big - 2008/06/12 10:06 When I still lived in ATL, Chastain Park was the greatest place for concerts. It was always a great show on the stage and off.

I am going to see Willie next month where I live and the tickets are $60 a piece. I am hoping he'll have Merle Haggard with him. *crossed fingers*

Re:Atl britches too big - 2008/06/14 15:54 Yeah...concert prices have certainly gotten out of control...we don't get to go very often...we've taken our daughter Sarah, who's ten, to see Los Lonely Boys at Chastain and Rob Thomas at Chastain...then this past October I took her (I could only get two tickets) to see Brad Paisley...that was an awesome show.

Re:Atl britches too big - 2008/06/14 18:32 Well, we were going to take our son (Raymond) to the "freebie" karaoke show @ The Oasis tonite until we found out no children were allowed. I'm sure we are going to be missing out on a great show!

Now, .38 Special at the chili cookoff @ Stone Mountain Park a few years ago was a real deal! ('99?) All you had to pay was the admission to the cookoff and within a few hours there was the band on stage in all their glory! They totally rocked The Rock that day!!! Might've been the best concert I've ever attended ....

Re:Atl britches too big - 2008/06/15 00:12 Chastain use to be a great place for a concert but going now is useless if you want to hear the band. Last time we went everybody was talking so loud and were so drunk it's not worth the money.
Too Bad maybe I am just getting older
