Re:U.S Military - 2008/10/27 16:54 " A veteran is someone who, at one point in Their life wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my
life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people
in this country who no longer understand it.'"

Re:U.S Military - 2008/10/27 17:00 I'm with you there Doug.. I'm a firm believer that EVERYONE needs to serve thier country.I served her without question. Went where she told me to go and did my jod to the best of my ability..and if not for people that serve thier country. We would NOT have some of the pleasures that we so enjoy..

Re:U.S Military - 2008/11/01 10:47 Veteran's Day
So many of our nation's citizens get this day off from work every year. And although the vets have many benefits, they deserve extra on this holiday. A monetary bonus for each of them would be nice. But alas, I'm a dreamer. And so I offer my thanks to all vets and their families for all they've done and sacraficed.

Re:U.S Military - 2008/11/02 07:21 I volunteer alot of my free time to helping some good guys down at the VA.some of them are returning to the states after combat.I served as well.and i have to tell everyone to remember that the real heroes didnt come home.We commemorate their deaths with holidays like Veterans Day-but, we all need to celebrate the lives of those who served - in any part,active,reserve- or even support < famliy support included>.

Forrest,

Both of my daughters are active duty military. My youngest is an Army medic with the 10th Mountain out of Ft Drum, NY. She recently completed a 16 month tour of Afghanistan. My oldest is currently in Afghanistan, serving with the 75th AMU out of Moody AFB/Flying Tigers. Thanks for supporting these men and women - they truly appreciate our support!
